Japanese Beauty Secrets for Youthful and Radiant Skin

Think of Japanese women and what comes in your mind? That beautiful, ever youthful and flawless skin with a complexion to die for. Japanese never look too old whatsoever. Actually it’s more than only genes. Although genetics play an important role in deciding the texture and complexion of skin, yet, Japanese also follow some beauty rituals which bless them with that flawless skin. Let’s look into their skin care routine. Follow it religiously if you want to have that baby skin!

Double cleansing:

Japanese are clever with cleansing. They don’t cleanse the skin once, but twice. Double cleansing helps to remove dust which has penetrated deep down the pores. They prefer heavy-duty oils (coconut oil, olive oil etc.) for cleansing. Gentle cleansing results in removal of toxins from the skin. Pores also shrink due to double-cleansing.

Magic massage:

After cleansing next step is massaging. What Japanese women do id place their face in palms of both hands after applying lotion. This helps in blood circulation and also stimulates the brain. Thus, it’s not a simple massage it’s a magic massage!

Exfoliation with rice:

Rice is a secret ingredient Japanese use for exfoliation. Rice is also used to make face masks and its water is used as a toner (discussed in next step)

The method of exfoliation is:

  • Add enough water in rice and blend so that it comes out as a paste not too runny and not too thick.
  • Apply the paste on whole body and massage in circular manner.
  • Do this for 5 minutes and rinse with cold or Luke warm water. Never apply soap or shower gel after exfoliation.

Rice water as a toner and moisturizer:

As mentioned above, rice water is great toner and moisturizer. It helps to maintain a smooth skin texture and also improves complexion. It hydrates the skin and stimulates cell regeneration. So, it replaces old and dead cells with new cells.

  • Soak one cup of rice in cold water for minimum 10 minutes.
  • Drain and save the water. Boil water with some Palma Rosa oil. Stir well and store in refrigerator for not more than one week.
  • Apply this water on the skin with the help of cotton ball. It will keep your skin fresh and youthful!

Wakame Kelp for youthful skin:

Wakame Kelp is a sea weed found in Japan. It has numerous beneficial properties and Japanese include it in their diet.

  • It eliminates toxins from the body.
  • It helps to burn fatty tissue.
  • It purifies blood.
  • It is great for skin and hair.
  • It has anti-aging properties and thus supports collagen production in the skin.
  • It helps the skin look younger. That is why it is used in various skin care products as well.

Green tea scrub and face mask:

Green tea is great for exfoliation, acne, clear the pores and makes the skin smooth and youthful. Green tea makes the skin look fresh by replacing dead cells with new cells.

  • Make one cup green tea and save the bag. Let the bag cool.
  • Empty the green tea bag in a bowl. Add one teaspoon honey and one teaspoon rice floor. Mix really well.
  • Apply this on face (and other parts of the body) and massage for few minutes.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes. Rinse with Luke-warm water.

Face mask for acne:

Rice face mask is great to fight acne.

  • Boil some rice and keep the water in.
  • Add honey and milk in the rice to form a nice paste.
  • Apply the paste as a mask and leave it for good 45 minutes.
  • Rinse with the rice water that you saved earlier.

Anti-aging face mask:

So here you go! Japanese use this anti-aging face mask to look youthful always. This mask also gives a glow to the skin.

  • Boil 3 spoons of rice with water. Keep rice and rice water separately.
  • To the boiled rice, add avocado and honey to make a smooth paste.
  • Apply on the face and neck and leave for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse with the rice water you saved.

These are few beauty regimes that Japanese follow to make their skin look younger and fresher. As you must have noticed, they use this secret ingredient in their masks and scrub i.e. rice!
